(Jakarta, October 25, 2011) PT PLN (Persero) will perform the replacement of old kWh meter in bulk and simultaneously in all parts of Indonesia on Thursday, October 27, 2011 in conjunction with the National Electricity Day (HLN) to – 66 years. The purpose of this program is to improve and maintain the accuracy of measurements electricity consumption by customers there by supporting a fair business with customers among PLN. KWh meter with accurate then the electrical energy used by customers will be measured with accuracy anyway so the customer will pay the electric bill is really appropriate use.
This program is free. Customers who replaced kWh meter is free of charge. kWh meter that PLN have targeted to be replaced is the meter that has been aged more than 20 years, including kWh meter is technically impaired / damaged so it can not function properly. During the year 2011, targets the replacement of old meters kWh throughout Indonesia was 2.6 million consisting of: Java – Bali 2.1 million kWh meters, Western Indonesia (Sumatra and West Kalimantan) 300.000 kWh meters and Eastern Indonesia (Kalimantan, Sulawesi, NTB , NTT, Maluku and Papua) by 200.000 kWh meters.
As is known, kWh meter is a measuring instrument is deposited in the PLN’s customer’s premises and serves to measure the electricity consumption of customers. kWh meter is old, especially if you have damage potentially reduce electricity consumption measurement accuracy. These conditions, will reduce the transparency and disrupt business processes more fair. In addition to further improve the quality of service to the public / consumers, action kWh replacement of old meters are also used to establish Hospitality and direct communication with customers, as well as PLN closer to the customer. Hopefully, through direct visits to this field, PLN can better absorb the wishes and expectations of society against the PLN service.
